July 20 @ 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
Region: Lake Erie-Grape Belt
The SunsetBay Walleye Shoot Out is the 9th year for the tournament. The event is officially the highest paying one day walleye shoot out in the country, with over $150,000 in cash and prizes. Anglers from 15 states are coming into the area to fish the event.
The event consists of Big Fish Friday, a practice day for the fleet and takes place on Friday July 19th. The main event is Saturday, July 20th. The entire fleet will line up at the pier heads of the Cattaraugus Creek in Sunset Bay. At 7:00 AM sharp, the fleet shoots off to what they hopewill produce the largest 6 walleyes of the day. The public is welcome to walk out on the pier heads to get close to the action of over 100 boats taking off.
The fleet must return back to the pier heads by 3:30 PM to weigh in their catch and the live weigh in show starts at 4:30 PM on Saturday, on the beach at Cabana Sam’s (Sunset Bay USA). This is free to the public.
